Placenta previa is antepartum bleeding disorder which originates in the placenta, which is the lower segment of the uterus so it can cover most or all of the os internum. The incidence of placenta previa ranges from 0.3% to 0.6% of the total labor. Some of the factors that cause maternal placenta previa is multiparity, advanced age (> 35 years), the purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of maternal age and parity with the incidence of placenta previa. This type of research is descriptive analytic case control study was conducted in March and April 2015 through the checklist and observation sheets population in this study were all mothers delivered at the obstetrics and diseases of the womb. Samples were 36 maternal cases with placenta previa, whereas the control sample is 36 women giving birth is not retained placenta and methods of data analysis using chi square test. The result showed more than half of respondents were 37 mothers (51.4%) with age at risk and more than half of the respondents are 44 mothers (61.1%) with no risk parity bivariate analysis results obtained significant relationship between age and incidence of placenta previa ( p = 0.018) and there is a relationship of parity with the incidence of placenta previa (p = 0.029). From these results it can be concluded that the incidence of placenta previa will increase two-fold if the mother's age <20 or> 35 years and also at parity ≥3. Thus expected to be more vigilant with kehamilanya mother.
