In Indonesia of the infant deaths by 57% died during the newborn. Causes of neonatal deaths in Indonesia is low birth weight (29%), asphyxia (27%) and others (44%) (JNPK-KR, 2008). Achmad Mochtar Hospital for LBW cases in 2014 that 266 infants from birth in 1497. This study aims to determine the relationship with the mother's age and parity LBW in hospitals Dr. Achmad Mochtar 2014.This type of research is cross sectional. This study was conducted in 13 April s / d 3 Mai 2015 in Hospital Dr. Achmad Mochtar Bukittinggi. Respondents in this study were all women giving birth in hospitals Achmad Mochtar in July s / d in December 2014. Data were collected through secondary data, using systematic random sampling technique sampling defined sample of 88 people and tested by using chi square test.Of the 88 respondents note that more than half of the respondents age are at risk for low birth weight that is 50 people (56.8%), the majority of respondents parity at risk of low birth untukberat ie 59 persons (67.0%), and more than half of infants born with low birth weight that is 59 people (67.0%) at Hospital Dr. Achmad Mochtar 2014. There was a significant association between maternal age and parity with the incidence of low birth weight babies in hospitals Dr. Achmad Mochtar 2014 (p = 0.001).Maternal age <20 or> 35 years could affect the baby is born, the impact that would result in babies with low birth weight. Suggestions from researchers is that health workers improve efforts to prevent and address the main causes of death, especially in newborns.
