Penerapan Universal Precaution: Cuci Tangan Bersih Perawat Berdasarkan Beban Kerja Dan Motivasi

One of the serious risks facing the nurse in carrying out its duties is contracting or transmitting infectious diseases. This study aims to determine the factors heavy workload and motivation that affect the application of Universal Precaution: washing hands nurses at inpatient RSI Ibnu Sina Bukittinggi. The type of this research is correlation dynamics with cross sectional approach. This study was conducted at the hospitalization of RSI Ibnu Sina Bukittinggi in April to July 2017. The population in this study all nurses at inpatient RSI Ibnu Sina Bukittinggi as many as 64 people. The data were collected using questionnaires and checklists. Data analysis was done by computerized chi-square test. The results show that heavy workload 42 people (65.6%), high motivation 59 people (92.2%) with Universal Application Precaution 48 people (75.0%). The result of statistical analysis shows There is a work load relation with the implementation of Universal Precaution: hand washing nurse, with chi- square test obtained p value = 0,002 and there is motivation relationship with applying of Universal Precaution: hand washing nurse, with chi-square test obtained value p = 0,003 (p < 0.05) and the value of OR = 15.667. It can be concluded that there are the factors heavy workload and motivation influencing the application of Universal Precaution: washing the hands of nurses. For that suggest hospital efforts can keep handhygiene.
