Jaundice is a yellowing of the sclera, skin or other tissue due to accumulation of bilirubin in the body. From the initial survey found nearly half of Islamic Yarsi Hospital in Bukittinggi 2015 experienced jaundice. This study aims to determine the factors that cause the occurrence of jaundice in Islamic Yarsi Hospital in Bukittinggi 2015.The research method is analytical survey research design used is a case control study. The population in this study are all new born baby with jaundice are recorded in the medical record for 177 babies and a sample of 35 new born baby with jaundice. The sampling technique using systematic random sampling in which is every member of the population has an equal opportunity to be selected as a sample. Data analysis is done by Chi-Square test statistic using the computerized system by a degree of confidence of 95% (p = 0.05).From the results, 70% new born baby iketrus, 85.7% low birth weight, asphyxia new born baby 67.1%, and 74.3% were preterm new born baby. And of hashish Chi-Square test found the influence of LBW, asphyxia, and Preterm which causes jaundice occurrence in newborns in Islamic Yarsi Hospital in Bukittinggi 2015.This study shows that the number of infants with jaundice in Islamic Yarsi Hospital in Bukittinggi 2015.It is expected to midwives to improve counseling about jaundice in infants so that mother can be more vigilant.
