One of the problems that arises in the process of labor is the emergence of anxiety that lead to prolonged labor, causing complications. To reduce the level of maternal anxiety in the face of labor, professionals health worker are demanded to provide care to the maximum mother efforts to reduce maternal anxiety levels to face childbirth. The purpose of this study is to determine whether there is influence of maternal affection care implementation in lowering anxiety levels mothers in having labor. This research is a Quasi-Experimental Designs by using Non-Equivalent Control Group design. The population in this study is the birth mother of the first stage in midwife house practices Bunda Bukittinggi from March to April 2015. In the study sample as many as 30 people, with accidental sampling technique. The collecting data is done by measuring the levels of maternal anxiety using the Scale Hars. Analysis of data using the Test T-Test with a p-value ≤ 0:05. Results of univariate analysis in this study showed that the intervention group before being given the care of maternal affection are most of experiencing moderate anxiety (66.6%), most of the control group experienced moderate anxiety (73.3%). Results of bivariate analysis in the intervention and control groups after being given the care of maternal affection are most of experiencing mild anxiety (59.9%), the majority control group of experiencing moderate anxiety (66.6%). Bivariate analysis results obtained p-value 0.000 which indicates Ha accepted which means that there is influence of maternal care on the level of anxiety mothers having the birth process stage I. The conclusion of this study, a significant difference in the reduction of maternal anxiety for labor after being given the care of maternal affection. Expected to all health services in order to be better in implementing the care of maternal affection to the fullest.
