Birth of weight is one of indicators of the health of the newborn baby. Growth and development of the fetus during pregnancy is dependent on the integrity and continuity of uteroplacental vascular supply. Uteroplacental which is disrupted supply will cause disruption of placental function in distributing food and nutrition is needed for the fetus. So that the supply of nutrient that flow from the placenta to the fetus become reduced and may lead to the birth of LBW. This study aims to determine the relationship of placental weight to birth weight infants in midwife house practices N.The research method describe and analytical, by the entire population of mothers who are on midwife house practices N numbered 54 people and 35 samples that birth mothers in midwife house practices N which present the inclusion criteria. The sampling technique is consecutive sampling, by doing the cross sectional approach, the measured variable is independent variable and dependent variable placental weight and weight newborns. Observation method of data collection, and the measuring instruments were used placentais and baby scales. While the data processing performed by Chi-Square test.Univariate test results is obtained over half of respondents (85.7%) have normal placental weight, and more than half of respondents (91.4%) have normal birth weight. Bivariate test is found there is related between placental weight to birthweight infants, the value ρ = 0.002 and OR = 2.5.The conclusion of this study is placental weight has a significant related with birth weight babies midwife house practices N. placental growth influenced by the mother, fetus and placenta factor itself. The better growth of the placenta, the better growth of the fetus.
