PELAKSANAAN SENAM BRAIN GYM TERHADAP TINGKAT KECERDASAN EMOSIONAL ANAK USIA PRASEKOLAH (4-5 TAHUN) DI PAUD IBNU SINA BUKITTINGGI

Emotional intelligence is the ability to recognizing emotions, managing emotions, motivating oneself, recognizing emotions in others and build relationships. The level emotional intelligence in Paud Ibnu Sina Bukittinggi are low around 60%. In Indonesia, an outline of the data analysis Survey Kesehatan Rumah Tangga (Survey, 1995) regarding the emotional symptoms of mental disorders of children aged 5-14 years is 114 per 1000 children. The impact of low emotional intelligence children are children tend to be fussy, difficult to get along, stubborn and tend to look uneasy. One of physical activity used increase the child's emotional intelligence is Brain Gym exercises. Brain Gym exercises are aimed to decrease the level of emotional intelligence of preschool children (4-5 years) in early childhood Ibn Sina Bukittinggi. This article was conducted using pre experiment pretest - posttest one group design, performed on 15 children. Test analysis using paired sample t-test. The results showed before Brain Gym given there are 7 respondents with high levels of emotional intelligence (46.7%), and low levels of emotional intelligence 8 respondents (53.3%), after being given the Brain Gym 13 respondents (86.7%) have a high level of emotional intelligence, 2 respondents ( 13.3%) had a low level of emotional intelligence. The results of paired samples t-test showed the value t = -10 001 and p value = 0.000. This suggests that Brain Gym exercises can improve emotional intelligence preschool children (4-5 years).
