Hypertension wellknown as a silent killer. In general, hypertension occurs without symptoms. Data on the incidence of hypertension was highest in West Pasaman Simpang Empat health centers (16.05%). Quantitative research is used where data is the data in the form of numbers, using a cross-sectional study, a sample of 77 people, sampling techniques Systematic Random Sampling, conducted from September 2012 to January 2013. Analysis of the data used are univariate and bivariate. There was a significant association was marked with a P value <0.05. This study shows that the incidence of hypertension in men - males is higher (29.8%) than women (22.1%), a high incidence of obesity (35.1%), high fat consumption (33.7%), consumption high sodium (32.5%), low fiber consumption (25.99%), a history of the descendants of respondents (40.3%), and low physical activity (40.2%). The statistical test used is chi-square test. All study variables have a significant association with the incidence of hypertension, except for the variable gender was no significant correlation with p = 0.173. It is recommended that health workers improve health education activities particularly specially for saler about hypertension and can be used for further research and design of different variables and the number of samples more.
