Appendictomy is a surgary which create pain. Some of therapy of decreasing the pain are musical therapy and managing imagination therapy. The purpose of this research is to know the effect of managing imagination therapy and musical therapy to decreasing pain intensity in patient post appendictmy acute in surgical room of Dr. Achmad Darwis Hospital. This reasearch is happend in May – July 2014 in Dr. Achmad Darwis Hospital. This reaseach use quasi experimental study with two groups design pretest – postest. Sample of this research as many as 10 person for managing imagination therapy and 10 person for musical therapy with accidental sampling. Base on computerize analysis with independent t-test, the mean of managing imagination therapy is 4,382 and musical therapy is 6,467. Beside taht, obtained results of test is p=0.000 (p≤0,05) shows that there are differences between managing imagination therapy and musical therapy with pain intensity in patient post appendictomy acute. The expecting of this reaseach is to the nurse to give information, motivation, and do this therapy to the patient with post appendictomy acute t decreasing their pain intensity.
