Breastfeeding mothers are still apprehensive in because there are many benefits of breastfeeding for less than 6 months but he has been delivering food and other liquid to the baby. Because the knowledge and support of the family is one of the important factors that mempengarugi a mother breast-feeding her baby The aim of this study to determine the relationship of the level of knowledge and support to breastfeeding families in the village Payolansek West Payakumbuh 2014. The design of this study used a descriptive cross sectional analytic study. The population of the study are all Mothers who have babies aged 6-12 months in the West Village Payakumbuh Payolansek of 40 people with accidental sampling technique sampling. The instrument consists of a questionnaire study of knowledge, support families by providing research data ASI. Analysis of research data and analysis of univariate analysis using bivariat.Results of univariate analysis showed that low maternal knowledge (27.5) and are no family support (67.5) and exclusive breastfeeding (47.5) The results of bivariate analysis using chi-square was no correlation with the level of knowledge of breast-feeding (P value = 0.002). But there is no relationship bermana family support with breastfeeding (P value = 0.007) The conclusion from this research that there is no significant relationship between the level of knowledge and support to breastfeeding families in the Village West Payakumbuh Year 2014 Payolansek This research is expected to be input for health care institutions and can be used as a reference by subsequent researchers.
